Default AC, Steering Wheel, Turn Signal Problems

Hey friends it's me Michael again!

I have an A6 2-7T Tiptronic.

Well today when I was driving I tried to use my steering wheel controls (Volume, track skip) and it wouldn't work. Then my A/C, Heater won't work, and turn signals don't work. It's those three things that don't work!

The radio works, cruise control, headlights, bright lights, Instrument cluster, and Hazards all work fine. I checked all the fuses and they are good. Any suggestions? I am lost on this one.

I have faith in everyone. Everything wrong with my car I found out here how to fix it.

Do your wipers work? If not then it sounds like a bad load reduction relay.

Here is a diy article on AW. This is for an A4 but it's in the same location as the A6. Good luck with it.

Thanks bro. . . .

I took it out and took the relay apart and powered it with a 12v Battery and the relay seemed to work fine. . .

Put the relay back in and now the problem is solved. Maybe it just needed to be forced.

Thanks for the direction.

Good deal. Glad it's working again.
