Default Acceleration Lag? A6 c5 (2000)

I noticed that there is a momentary lag between when I push down on the accelerator to when the power gets to the wheels. Is this a normal thing for our car? I don't know if it's because of a throttle cable needs to be tightened or what but any input or advice would be great, thanks!

common problem on the 2000+ models as they are drive by wire. no throttle cable. There was at one time a discussion a long time ago about a dealer ecu flash that helped the lag but I don't remember any of the details. IIRC it's more of a transmission/engine lag issue, not just he engine.

Anyways, just get used to it. Unless of course it seems dangerously slow to respond then maybe take it to the dealer as that's not normal.
