Default Acronyms...DP and VAG-com?

Hello:

I am considering an '02 A6 2.7T - if I can find one with low miles and perfect records, etc.

I have been looking at more expensive cars (2005 4.2, 2006 550i, etc.), but woke up today wondering what I could get around the $10k level...I have had many many vehicles but only one old Audi...drove a buddy's 2.7T 6 years ago and it was nice.

SO - reading through this forum, I came across a list of things that could help either add life to the Turbo or other things...but what the heck are these acronyms??

DP (or Dp)?

VAG-Com?

What should I expect to pay (aside from the book values) for a 2002 2.7T?

Is there a dramatically better year to look for?

Thank you!!

Downpipe

the exhaust pipe coming off of turbos

any time you can reduce backpressure for a turbocharged car, you reduce heat buildup, and extend life.

do a search for "piggies" and you'll see what they're talking about
