Default Advice on an 02 A6- Private Seller.

I'm new to the boards but I have a few questions. Theres a 2002 A6 with 128,250 miles. Garage kept, now my question is i know 128 is a lot of miles however the front cv boots, oxygen sensor, oil pan seal and all vacum hoses have been replaced. All belts including timing belt, water pump, fluids and plugs have been replaced at 105,000 miles. This could potentially give me a lot more miles on this baby. What are some other things I should ask about, or should I not even bother to test drive it? Any advice would be great. Thank you in advance. They are asking 8,500 OBO

I'd be MUCH more concerned about the tranny (if its auto) than the engine! Has he ever done a flush? I not, then that trans may not last to long and you looking at 2/3 the value of the car just to fix it!

pass, price is too high with that many miles. the 3.0 is known to be expensive to work on too. I would keep looking if i were you.

Always try negotiating the price down...
Since the main service was performed (TB and water pump) you should be alright. The next most expensive repair would be the cats going bad. Audi OEM is about $1,200 each and you have 2 of them to worry about. See if you can purchase an extended warranty, and be pick one that includes the exhaust system.
Of course if you ask 10 different people for advice you will get... 10 different opinions!
