First post so apologies if anything is out of line.

I've an A6 Estate 2.7 Auto/tiptronic bi-turbo Quattro '99 and was wondering if anybody knew how I could find out if it is fitted with a "factory fit" alarm?

When the car is locked the LEDs near the door pins flash but I tried to get the alarm to activate by locking the car whilst I was inside and nothing happened.

Tried the sensor On / Off switch in the drivers side doorway and it made no difference.
The manual is not much use so if anybody could offer some advice Id be grateful.

Also I understand that the anti-hijack auto locking (above 10mph) can be activated through the VAG-COM software. Is it obvious what has to be changed as it will be a first using the software.

And finally.. if anybody knows anywhere I can get replacement trim for the tailgate could they point me in the right direction..

Thanks very much in advance.

Well the internal alarm goes off after like 5-10 minutes i think? I've sat in there and had it go off after a while. Also, there are sensors near the windows that go off (after i think 5-10 minutes of the vehicle being locked) if there is any motion through the windows. Wind is a big culprit in the summer of setting this alarm off if you choose to keep your windows open.
