Default Air Bag light!

so i took off my steering wheel off to replace the directional stalk and now my airbag light is on, i have everything plugged in exactly the same way it was originally i have the grounds connected, the plug and the other things, i took a pic of it before i disconnected everything make sure i wouldn't screw anything up and it looks exactly the same, everythings connected right, so do i have to have it reset or something?

It's vag-com time! The code(s) should help you!

Did you disconnect the battery before you removed the wheel? If not then it probably kicked a code because the airbag was unplugged. If thats the case VAG-COM will let you clear the code. I had the same problem when I had to remove a seat and the airbag light came on because the airbag in the seat was disconnected.

Also not sure what year your car is but the shareware version of VAG-COM will not access the airbag module for the 2001 model year or so it tells me with a large warning screen whenever I open that module.

You can try the free version but I don't think it will allow you open the airbag module....

The free version will open the airbag module and let you clear the airbag code I was able to do it on my 02. Just follow the directions that will pop up when you click on the module as it will tell you to cycle the ignition off for 30 seconds and then turn it back on and then you can open the module and reset the code.
