air bag light on

Default air bag light on

I have 2004 a6 2.7t, 95000 mi the air bag light just came on and doesnt go out. Any ideas on how to fix problem i would appriciate them, thanks

Probably you'll need to scan it to see what code you get, but here's a control module replacement write-up that may address your problem.

Thanks for the help, you are right lot of things to remove for one little piece, you think they would put it in an easier place to get too. without going to the dealer to scan maybe the parts store can scan it I know that they do american cars,but what about the ad at the top of page for 49 dollars to reset air bag modules any good? if you get a chance let me know . thanks

if you get the free version of vag-com and an ebay cable you can reset the air bag light and read the code there have also been issues with the wires breaking under the drivers seat so that might be something you want to look into also.

thanks padog for the help, all the wires look good under the drivers seat looks like i have to hook up to vag-com and see what comes up,any ide of witch vag-com to get seems to be a few different ones out there on ebay, I have an audi a6 2.7t quattro, thanks again.
