I have a 95 A6 sedan and I am trying to unlock the radio, I have the code however when I goto enter it and I get the "1000" to show on the display when I hit the preset "1" to change the first number, it does not increase the number it makes the 1 in the "1000" disappear or re-appear. all of the other presets make the numbers increase like they should except for the 1. Is there something different I need to do to make this number change? Has anyone ever seen this or have any suggestions?

Never seen that, it shouldn't do that though. If the buttons aren't working correctly i would just replace the radio unit, they aren't that expensive and they give you a new code. Unless you know someone that can repair the radio contacts.
