I am wondering the same thing. I think when I change the dv's and remove the y-pipe in a few days I'm going to take off the TBB and look.

Just get a SMACO TBB or Bipipe... I personally like the bipipe but it is more $

YOU'll lose boost if it cracks and feel the difference...

Will the Bipipe crack too? If it does will apr refund it or somthing, i would much rather replace a $70 TBB a few times then a $300 Bipipe.

The APR bi pipeUSED to be the way to go IMHO. But over the years they seem to have lost there quality in build. It is a nice piece if you have the money. But there are several people out there with the samco TBB that are stage 3 and stage 3+ doing just fine. for ease and fitment go with the Samco

If you tear your TBB, it will usually be located on the bottom and it does not take a large tear to kill your performance. The car will be extremely sluggish with NO put you in the seat power. The Samco boot is well worth the $75.00 and the 1 1/2 hours to install. They will hold even for stage III cars. With a torn TBB, all of your charged/cool air will vent into the engine compartment. Also for any 2000 2.7T owners, you will want to replace your "F" hose as well with a Samco. They are tougher to replace though. A torn "F" hose with deter performance though it is not as noticable as a torn TBB.

OOOO

Thanks for the replies, sometime this week I will be ordering the Samco TBB and "F" hose. Plan on doing the install myself, hopefully it goes smoothly.

I replaced the my DV's today. My stock ones where making a loud honking noise, now I have 710n's on and the diffrence is noticble. I notice there isn't as much lag when you push the peddle. I also took off the TBB and found everything was in working order. So I think ill be fine for a couple more miles!
