Hi everybody ! I have a 2006 A6 and for some reason when i go and slide the ashtray cover open it will not stay open and just slides closed again, maybe it's a sign for me to quit smoking but besides that is anybody familiar with this problem ? Thanks

 

Never had the problem in my 05. I use it to store change for parking meters, so it does not get as much use as a smoker will give it.

Well I called the dealer and they told me that usually when that happens the whole ashtray has to be replaced because there are some gears in the ashtray door that eventually could have worn down. He said it would cost somewhere to the tune of 240 dollars . If you find any info please let me know .
