hello would it bo ok to buy a 1998 audi a6 with auto trans?? ive heard they may have problems cause of how old they are and stuff. this particular one im looking at has 85000 miles on it, but am edgy bout buying cause ive seen on reviews bout people constantly having to fix things. it has new water pump, timing belt, serpentine belt, tie rods, new plugs and steering pump. let me know if this would be good or bad buy??

 

it depends on a few things:
does the seller have maintanence records?
has the car been serviced at the dealership or elsewhere?
what's the price?
is the seller willing to let you inspect the vehicle with an independent mechanic or dealer?

FYI 85000 miles for '98 is low miles - 12-15k miles per year is considered "normal". And Timing belt is no small task [read: expensive], so this may end up being a good deal.
