I recently purchased an Audi A6 2.0TDI 2007 (engine code BRE) with basic MMI (red screen) and telephone preparation. The problem i have is that when the CD or radio is playing, there is a poping noise every so often and the music breaks/pauses.

This problem seems to also have also affected the telephone preparation as the MMI states the telphone is not installed and i am unable to connect it via bluetooth. I have placed a phone in the phone cradle but no joy either. The phone appears to charge but does not seem to connect. Sat Nav appears to work fine.

Ive been told it is a control module fault but which control module?. Some say the gateway module under the glove box and others the BT module in the passenger side pillar.

Ive searched the forums but cant seem to find the answer. Is it best to put the car on vag-com and pin point the fault. If so, is there anyone in the Yorkshire (leeds) area who can help or assist.

Any response would be greatly appreciated. Theres no on else to turn to except the dealers but i dont want to end up having to get an overdraft to sort the problem.
