Default audi key

ok so i was wondering, can you get the new audi switchblade key like this one. http://www.bookofjoe.com/images/2223344_1.jpg made for a 99 a6 ? i know you can get the key carved to work but what about the keyless to work ?

u probably need to recode the new key with vag com , and need to be an full vag-com , also u probably need your original skc (security key code) that comes with the original car keys when u do that , or u get it from dealer if they release it....i never did it , this is from what i read so far..

How important is the Keyless function to you?
I bought a fob on eBay for under $30, a set of key blades for a couple bucks, and $28.00 to have the new key cut by a professional locksmith.
I just use the key as spare it works great. I use it to close all windows and sunroof and set the alarm.
I am not sure my fob is the right one for may car so the transmitter may not work, but I haven't really checked. I just wanted to make sure I had a spare key, should I lose my original.
