Default Audi Service...They have no IDEA

ok...this is my 3rd trip and 2nd dayfor the same one issue that Audi service shop foreman or other techs are unable to figure out. I get a knocking noise when I slightly tap on my brakes. First they redid the brakes...I mean took pads out and then put em back in. They replaced calipers...front and back and I was told yesterday that they put microphones to figure out the noise while driving but they still have NO CLUE. I am not sure what kind of dumb people work at Audi service and why is it that hard to fix this issue...ANY IDEAS???

Rear brakes not engaging fully, pushing all the stopping power onto the front brakes.

Maybe, something suspension related?

The knockingis a secret signal given by one of the Germanic Trolls to warn his friends that they need to brace themselves because the non-Germanic idiot that is driving the vehicle is going to stop soon. The only way to eliminate the knocking is to squish the little guy between your fingers.

You don't say if it is one knock or a bunch of them -
If it is a bunch --Loose brake pads can make a knocking sound before they make solid contact with the rotor...

If it is one -- A sway bar bushing or loose bolt that allows something to move when the direction of forces change ..

When you went from the OEM 17s to the 18s did you do anything to the brakes? Did you have the knocking before you made the switch? If I recall correctly, when you purchased the car a couple of months ago you had to wait while the dealer addressed some brake issue. Do you know what the dealer did to the brakes before you purchased the car?

Dealer in NJput brand new front rotors and pads and new rear pads...dealer up here in DC looked at it few times after new wheels and they said that calipers were loose so they fixed it but noise was still there..today they took out everything from the suspension and put it back together...noise is gone and hopefully it wont come back again. Thanks
