i was always told that v6's start the best at the coldest temps. its kind of nice to hear from audi guys that buying the v6 has it's advantages. what is wrong with turbos in the cold?

So if you have turbos, basically let the car warm up in the winter time? Cuz I'll be heading to the mountains a lot.

I was in Chicago last winter in -8o F weather. She turned over slowly but started right up. Steering and suspension were real stiff and I took it easy for the first few miles until things loosened up. I also let her warm up 2-3 minutes -I usually only wait a minute or so when she's been out in the cold. I have a 5+ year old battery and 118k miles.

I strongly recommend 0W-40 synthetic and regular gasline antifreeze.

yea i loved my car this past winter. First car and first audi. I enjoyed my michigan winter 3x more than i have my whole liife. I remember there was a blizzard one night and everyone was slowly moving along and im just passing everyone in the left lane, and drifting OMG is that a blast. You'll have everyone thinking your a professional. I usually let mine warm up for a min. of 5min in the winter for the turbos. I love these cars!

I swear the A6 was designed for inclement weather, it's the only time these cars really shine... the quattro, the rear fog lamps, the sheer weight.. with a nice set of winter tires with good traction this car is tight.
