Change the oil with a good synthetic, I suggest Mobil 1 0w-40. I feel your car is too new to be making valve noise, but then again the oil could be really old.

Don't worry about it, 3.0L Have a chatter noise when they first start up because they use four seperate cam adjuster gears for intake and exhaust. When you first start it up the adjusters don't have any oil in them yet and they make an ugly noise. If you wan't to verify the noise is the same as yours take a trip to the dealer and have one of the service guys start up a few 3.0L engines for you just to make sure its the same. I have had to do this several times for 3.0L owners, one of the reasons audi doesn't make the 3.0L anymore.

It will be fine, i remember when doing the PDI (pre delivery inspections)the brand new ones right off the truck they had that annoying noise since they were new. ALL 3.0L engines will make the noise.
As far as i know the highest mileage 3.0L engine i found was 175,000 miles on it and sure as s*** the noise sounds exactly the same as the new ones. I never had to do any repairs to them for the noise if thats what your asking. The only problems ive seen with 3.0L engines are snapped timing belts at around 75k.

Yes auditech79 is the man! I have the 3.0L too with 44k miles on it , and it does the same thing. I could swear I have like 1000 extra horsepower for the first 3 seconds after i start the engine hehe, maybe its the "VTECH" kicking in

hi teranenrique, when you start the engine, these 3 seconds does it sounds like diesel engine, like strong valve noise?
