auto dimming rear view mirror

auto dimming rear view mirror
98 a6 the rear view mirror has an odd yellowish discoloration behind the glass. It looks as if there is a liquid behind the glass for the auto dimming. I think some leaked out and now it looks like a bubble. Has anyone had this happen? How can I fix it? Do I need a new mirror?
