This weekend a strange tapping noise started when my A6 is in neutral or park with no pressure on the brake pedal. the transmission seems to be making a tapping/knocking noise which can be felt in the shifter handle. If you depress the brake pedal the noise stops. The noise does not appear in reverse or any forward gears, only at idle when in park or neutral.

Anyone else experience this issue or have any ideas?
