Usually the block heater cord comes out in the grill area. Maybe this car just doesnt have one.

If your worried about it..which I wouldn't be..You can buy an aftermarket block heater which have silicone pads that clip onto the block and then you can plug it in. I think your coolant should be good past -40F..Anybody else know the temp threshold on the coolant?

I asked the same question about my 2000 4.2. Its been very cold in Calgary this week and I was worried about cold starts. I called the dealer and they said Audi's don't have block heaters. Then he went and rambled off some reason like the cars fire right away and bla bla coils bla bla dont need it bla. I couldn't hear to well on my cell so I don't have the proper explaination.

Well good thing it warmed up today, image a 30 degree change in weather in only 2 days!

I have been keeping my eye open for other Audis on the road and have not seen one block heater cord.

He was probably talking about fuel injection. With a carborator the fuel tends to not want to vaporize when its cold out. Ever try to start a carborated car/snowblower when its cold out. The heater helps with the vaporization. The injectors do a pretty good job of vaporizing the fuel so a heater isnt nesessary.
