Default blown right side turbo

Just got a report back I have a blown right side turbo. Was wondering if its worth it to just go to the to4's or just replace them with k03's. Any thoughts?

I'd suggest you search the C5 A6 and the B5 S4 forums on www.audiworld.com. Pretty high-level brain trust over there to help you with the problem.

Good luck.

How did the car drive with the blown turbo? Meaning what made you bring it in?

blown is a relative term. an internal oil seal ruptured spitting oil into the compression side of the turbo. Basically I'm spitting oil into my engine. I only noticed it when I saw a smidge of smoke under heavy acceleration, I brought it to a shop and they took off the charge pipes connecting to the throttle body and saw that the right side pipe had oil and sludge in it. the turbo was also leaking a small amount of oil. The car actually drives fine right now just not performing up to standards and burning a little oil.

why not look into getting the turbo rebuilt. look for a truck shop that performs this service.

to eliminate down time, buy a used turbo off ebay or elsewhere, have it rebuilt and then do a swap.
