A6lvr,
Congrats on actually getting your phone to work with your car. That's the first step!

One thing I do remember from my conversation with the Audi dealership about connecting to the phone book (which I was never successful doing) was that the phone book had to be stored on the phone's sim card. It could not be locally stored on the phone. Now, on my phone I use a combination of phone stored and sim stored numbers. Perhaps a combination of the two does not allow the phone book to show up? How is your phone set up?

An update: I found a resource online at the Motorola website for compatibility between the V710 and different automobiles....it states very clearly that my particular phone will NOT support transfer of contacts from the phone book.... Sounds like I'm out of luck and will have to consider starting over maybe with a Sony Ericsson. On the bright side, the phone otherwise works great so I might just spend an afternoon entering all my contacts by hand into my A6. There are worse things I could be doing....

Wow, that sucks that you can't use the phone book function. But great that you were able to find a source of information. Can you pass along a link perhaps? I gather from your post that Sony Ericcsons are more capable of using the phone book with the car..... is this right?

You can find information for the Motorola V710 on the Verizon Wireless website www.verizonwireless.com and do a search for "bluetooth telephone", and then go to the FAQs. You'll find the following:

What is the Bluetooth hands-Free profile?
The Bluetooth hands-free profile allows the use of hands-free devices, such as car kits.

For the Motorola V710, please see www.verizonwireless.com/bluetoothchart for car kit compatibility prior to making a purchase.

For some reason, when I tried to use the above link for the bluetooth chart on browser, it didn't work and it sent me to the home page. That's why I mentioned the stuff about the FAQs.

By the way, I just spoke with my saleman and he told me that a relative of his has purchased a cell phone which has integrated seemlessly with the Audi A6 and he's going to get back to me on which phone it is. I'll post it as soon as I find out.
