Default Borg Warner K04's for under $1300

Does $1299 for K04's using Borg Warner CHRA and actuators and chinese housings (turbine and compressor with proper porting) sound like a good deal? Just putting this out there.

No. 90% of the turbos that come from china usually last between 200 and 4,000 miles tops. The chinese aren't exactly known for high quality, those are the turbos you find on ebay But hey, if you want to spend 30 hours of labor for pulling the engine and installing new turbos just have them fail by the first oil change to save a few bucks, knock yourself out.

Hmm...I don't think you read my post. Turbos using the Borg Warner CHRA and not the chinese ones. Just using the housings from a chinese turbo. If the housing was properly ported to eliminate boost creep, and the turbo centers are Borg Warner and they are under $1300 or even close to $1k, still have worries?

By the way, 30 hours to install turbos? I've gotten the engine out with a friend in 3hrs and Tullin Concepts has done it in 1hr 32mins.

I took a look at there site. The part numbers don't match Borg Warner numbers or Audi numbers. Plus the pictures are K03's.

I noticed that strange numbers and went with JHM - pair of K04s for $2200.
