Brake line replacing????
Has anyone replaced a brake line on a 96 Audi a6 quattro. It's leaking from the brake line on the rear driver side line. Its all corroded. Is it a easy fix and what type of fluid does this model take??? any help would be great.
thanks

I assume you mean the flex lines.
If you can't get the flex lines off the steel brake line or you screw up the caliper the fix might not be easy. I was lucky when I did mine. I only had to replace one short steel line and found it at a large auto supply place on a Saturday morning just before they closed.
If your real handy, willing to take a chance, and have alternate transportation - go for it but be ready for some downtime if you run into trouble.
Don't expect to find the parts at Auto Zone. The German connectors are not all the same as you find in the US.
Use std Dot 4 fluid -- and PB Blaster
If one is bad the other are not far behind - do them all

well thank you for replying i didn't think anyone was going too. But that's kinda funny cause my dad was trying to get it off the steel brake line and it wouldn't come off. he didn't want to break it which was good cause if he did screw it up we would have had to fix the whole brake line in the body of the car. So we decided to bring it to a dealership to get fixed. So i am hoping and praying they can fix it without screwing anything up. But thank you again.
i will definitely have to do the rest very soon.

Napa and Carquest usualy have brake line and fittings. I have replaced brake line on 1984 and 1989 Ford station wagons. It is not easy to make a double flare for the old American cars. The European brake lines are metric and require different fittings and tools.
