Default Brake Pad warning

Howdy Fellas,
Have a 99'A6
Served me quite well....so far, have 67000 miles on it..
The (O) symbol has lit up...meaning its time to change brake pads...the last time i took it out to fletcher jones..they ripped me off for the brake pads...
i was thinking of buying them online and changing them....at another location...any suggestions....for cheaper locations in the chicagoland area...
adios
M

you could probably change them yourself, they're honestly not that bad if you have a general understanding of how things work. it would probably save you a ton of money on labor, that's for sure.

I do not see the O you are talking about. I see a snowflake and also the average.

I agree with changing them yourself and saving money. I have a 2000 2.7 and I changed them myself. Not very hard at all. Dealer quoted me $525 for the front, pads and rotors and $450 for the back pads and rotors. I was able to get better parts online for $450. I got ceramic pads and brembo rear disksand zimmerman drilled rotors on the front.

I would do them myself, but if you're interested give dupage autowerks a call - I've used them in the past with other cars and been very happy - haven't had my new car in there yet. Talk em down if you can and then there's a 15% off coupon on their website.
