Default Brakes

I need new brakes, both front and back for my 2000 a6 2.7t. I went to the dealer and Midas and they both quoted me around $950 for the front pads, roters and sensors. I went to a guy a friend referred me to and he gace me a price of $1050 for all 4 pads, rotors, and sensors. He will get the parts from the dealer for $770 including tax and charge me $280 for the labor. I dont have the tools to do them myself, so I think he might be my best option, but I'm hoping to find the parts for cheaper. Anyone know a place where I can order quality parts for cheaper than what the dealer sells them for?
I need rotors pads and sensors. Thank you

You should be able to get front and rear rotors and pads for less than than $770. Check www.ecstuning.com. I recently bought all my parts for around $500.

For 1k dollars, you could buy all the parts, tools and cases and cases and cases of beer. You might be interested in checking out getcoolparts.com. I have the 2.8l so I believe my parts are a little cheaper, but I believe I only paid ~300.00 for nice parts. Brembo rotors and ceramic pads with sensors. Maybe your friend would let you buy your own parts and he could put them in for you. That would save you ~3/400. There is no need in my opinion to go oem on break parts.

since when do friends take your hard earned $$. buy your pads at checker, have the rotors turned and cut the sensors (then cap ends and tape up to harness) they are useless anyway. cost of around $125 total! works just as good!

$1050 for brakes? Buy the tools and parts (for that matter a compressor and all the air tools, and a DIY manual) online. You'll still get out of it for less money. I did all my brakes - new rotors, and bought the pads without sensors - just short the circuit to keep the brake pad light off. You'll also want a can of brake cleaner and a box of nitrile gloves. I got out of it for less than $300 total if I remember correctly. Auto Parts Warehouse will have what you need and they offer free shipping over $50.00. Seriously, the prices are pretty close to wholesale.

Are ceramic pads the best pads? I saw a set of pads on autopartswarehouse.com for 126.95.
Front 8 pad set w/sensors, w/ girling floating calipers and 320 x 30 rotors. The brand is Akebono

Are those good brakes?
