Default Camshaft Seal Removal.

I am in the process of changing out my timing belt and am doing the water pump, thermostat etc too. I also got camshaft seals as part of the kit and even though I do not have much of a leak from the seals I want to change them since I am in there. What is the best way of removing the old seals. My rental kit did include the tool for installation but not removal. Any ideas? Thanks.

Fred,

there are detailed articles on audiworld about the procedure of repacement - cam adjuster gaskets and other...

Cam adjuster gaskets leaks are typical and object of replacement.

Cam seals are tricki to replace - required complete cleaness, dry seats and seals and NO engine startup at least for 4 hours.

Do you have the bar to hold the camshafts?

Yes I do have the bar to hold the camshafts. But I had to remove the pulleys to get to the camshaft seals. However I have marked and kept everything in position. I will look into Audiworld. Thanks.
