Car choice
I currently have an a6 2.7t tip with about 90,000 mi on it and i am about to sell it as i am looking to seriously mod my car (stage 3) and do not feel like paying thousands of dollars to rebuild my auto trans in order to handle all the power, nor do i want an automatic anymore. I am trying to decide whether to buy a 2.7t s4 or a 2.7t a6 (both manual). I would prefer to get the a6 as i am not a small guy, but i was wondering if anyone could possibly see any downside to getting it over the s4. Money is really of no object in the purchase price of the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Car choice
I would get an S4 over an A6 if you are serious about making power. There is more of a performance market for the S4 and they weigh less which really helps when you get down to it. I don't know how big you are or if you ever drove one but they aren't small cars so I think you would be able to drive comfortably. If money is no object maybe you should look into an RS4 or the twin turbo V8 S6.

200 lbs. is a lot if you are going for all out speed, but I will agree that unless you are completely gutting the car and making it into a race monster I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you use the back seat for human booty instead of your jackets/other "stuff", stick w/the A6. I am 6' and the wife is 6' and there is a lot of leg room behind each of us in the A6. I felt the A4 to be too small for our needs since we have a child and since I don't drink, I end up as the designated driver when we go out w/friends.
A4 is too small for me.

RE: Car choice
the s4 is only .1 sec faster then the A6 2.7T, (meaning both stock) and performance wise, you can do all the same things to the S4 or A6 since they have the same engine. A6 is bigger more room, but S4 is a bit smaller, but the S4 looks more sportier.
