Are there any vendors who make Carbon Fiber or Brushed Alum. trim pieces to cover or replace the wood ones in our cars?
Just curious...
Thanks!

Audi possibly, I know that you could get A6's with alloy trim in addition to the wood and the RS6 had carbon fiber trim... porobably would be expensive but you would get oem quality. We replaced cracked wood trim for the passengers side dash in our touareg and the one piece was about $150. Try calling your local dealer and see what they can do for you.

Wow! Pricey, huh! I'm surprised that an aftermarket company hasn't already done this. Maybe they have, and I'll have to look a little harder...

Umm, make sure this actually replaces the stock trim. We bought brushed alloy trim from that company and it was glue on, over the existing trim and it stuck out about a 1/4 inch. The finish was really nice but it looked kinda cheasy sticking up the way it did. I will look around and see if I can dig up a pic of that trim for you. (was on my moms 2000 passat.)
Matt.

I get the impression that's all it is. For that price, I wouldn't figure that it is replacement, but rather, a stick-on.
If you say it looks cheesy, I believe you. I saw a guy somewhere else on this forum who makes real replacements using original trim wrapped in genuine carbon fiber for $450+the origianl trim... Here's the link`

http://bp2.blogger.com/_hNkwq5GIxi4/...t-interior.jpg the $150 piece was the passengers side trim includong the wood and aluminum. You never know though, I would try and see what audi would charge because then you could have both the wood and cf. The finish does look top notch on those pieces in your link. If I had black interior, I would get cf for sure.
