Back in december I got hit with a 91/55

Just got out of court, year probation (MD), speed dropped to 74 in a 55, full punishment for that speed.

Was planning on getting a chip this summer, but now, I'm not sure. Should I? I may still do it before the miles get up. I was planning to get a valentine 1 in a few weeks also.

Funny moment, in court I tried my luck with saying that it was my first time out with the car, and I was not used to the speed. Funny convo ensues:

Judge: What kind of car do you have?
Me: An Audi A6
Judge: What is that? Officer, is that fast?
Officer: Very fast
Judge: Faster than the A4?
Officer: Well yes, unless the A4 has the A6 engine in it
Me (in my head): Then it would be an S4 (for the 2.7t at least)


I thought it was kinda funny how he said VERY fast, I have actually not been impressed with the speed, well, I was when I first got it, maybe I'm just used to it. But I've only barely beat a lightly modded SRT-4, and a 07 Maxima beat me once from a roll, I took him the other time. Then again, I have held an STI up to about 100, when he pulled on me.

At least now that I have to take it a little easy (or 2yr suspension), I can enjoy the fact that it is a luxury car too.

Well it was probably the best I could have asked for considering my speed.


Speeding ticket stories?

 

i got busted doing 104 in a 60 in my old mustang.
court threw it out and just charged me for the other thing i was doing wrong...

Got pegged doing a 115 in a 55 w/ my mustang......acted young and dumb and like i was scared shook my hand trying to take out my license....cop said next time ill write you up for blah blah blah and then let me off the hook...lucky me i have been pulled over 30 times and still have yet to get a ticket you think they would put warnings in the computer..

 

Even with a chip, the A6 2.7T isn't real fast off the line. It's respectable, but can't really stand up to the lighter cars with engines making as much or more horsepower. It just has too much weight plus the quattro.

Now, what it does very well, is run all day at speeds in excess of 120mph. That's considered fast. But is is rock solid and stable at those speeds. I had mine to 133 a couple times before I chipped it and to 150 one time since. I was very careful to choose the right road to do this as I'm pretty sure at that speed they impound the car, throw me in the slammer, and take away my license.
