CEL after replacing fuel filter?

CEL after replacing fuel filter?
So I just replaced the fuel filter.
I pulled the fuel pump fuse and let the car run until it died to relieve line pressure.
Now that its back going I see the CEL is on.
Guessing because I let it run out of gas? Did that cause it?
Anyone run across this before?
Easy fix for me is to disconnect the Neg at the battery. (I have the radio code)
One more reason to get a VagCom.
Thanks for any input

It's normal, don't run it out of gas, I prefer to just use a rag over fuel line so I don't get covered.
You can disconnect battery for 15 mins or so or just wait and it should go out on its own.
Probably stored a code as it starved itself of fuel and misfired or something like that.
