Change air filter on 2003 A6 4.2

I want change the air filter on my 2003 A6 4.2 but after removing the clips on the box i can't get the box up enough to change the filter.

Do i have to remove anything else to get access to the air filter?

no, but the rear snap is a PITA to get back on.

Take a long handle cheapo screwdriver and bend the tip at a little more than 90 degree angle. you can reach in there and snap it back while pushing down on the box.
