Happens to me pretty fequently, coils. Either replace all or replace one but always carry a spare! They are about $30 at NAPA or online.

Default It's fixed!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. It was the coil as several had mentioned. All is well now. I understand the coils typically go at once which means I get to go through this 5 more times. You'd think the dealership would just replace them all while they're at it wouldn't you? My car is still under CPO but not for long. Time to unload!

What you need to do is save the bad coil pull back into the stealer and pull the next one out and put the bad one in 5 more times and they'll all be new

What if it isn't the coils?
I have p300,301,302 and 303.

Replaced the plugs and cables yesterday. Still idling rough, same codes and the same annoying flashing CEL.

1996 Audi A4 126kmiles

I seafoamed it today. Just not having any luck. Need to fix it for obvious reasons and also needs smog.

You need to pull your codes and see whats happening
p0301,2,3,4,5,6 are misfire codes.
if all of your cylinders are misfiring then it sounds like a problem that would effect all cylinders.

Fuel pressure too low, test it (if so pump or regulator bad)
Maf sensor, IAT sensor, cam or crank sensors, ~Vacuum lines maybe

do not erase any codes with a cheapo code reader instead see them all first with a VAG-COM so you get the whole picture.

Mine wouldn't start only cranked a few weeks ago.
It was the IAT sensor wiring terminal.
but the cheapo code reader did not pull that code, only my Vag-Com did.

You can not diagnose a car these days without being able to read the codes because the entire engine is controlled by a computer that is connected to sensors and usually it's an electrical issue somewhere and the computer can't get enough information to manage the engine correctly.

Outside of that, I shall use my swammie powers and I forseeeeeeeeeee...
YES! a Subaru in all of our futures

oh except for that guy wearing a blue shirt, he still has his audi and he is swearing up a storm with wrench in hand
too bad for you my friend. too bad for you.
