Default checking of a combi valve is good or bad

Does anyone know of a way to test the 2 combi value if they are good before just replacing them? I have changed the vacuum lines on my car, no leaks. I replaced the sap, code did not clear. The last piece is the combi valves, I need to know how to check them is they are functioning correctly.

I know this thread has been dormant for about a week, but I just talked to an experienced Audi mechanic about this about a month or two ago.

If I recall correctly, you need to remove the vacuum tube and hook up a vacuum pump to it and attempt to pressurize it to 11psi (I believe, I could be wrong). Once it reaches that pressure the combi valve should open and the vacuum pump will no longer work indicating that the combi valve opened.

I hope that helps and hopefully I remembered correctly.

Hey thanks! I will give that a try. This darn p0411 code is driving me crazy and I need any help locating the part that is causing the issue.

Worst case you'll have to get a new combi valve and replace it. New they are about $150, but I was looking on eBay last night and you can get a used one for about $30.

What side is producing that error? Driver's or passenger's side?

When I have the code read I just get "p0411 secondary air incorrect flow". Is there a way to tell which side is generating the code?

Run a search on Secondary Air Injection (or SAI) and see what you think...
