Default Chrome mirror cap install....

Hey guys,
I just bought a 2001 ming blue A6 4.2 after reading on this forum for months and doing my research. Needless to say, I love this car! Ive already tinted it all around 20%, along with silvania silverstar fog bulbs. I also ordered a pair of chrome mirror caps from a company in germany called in.pro. The problem is the instructions are in german. I searched for an install post but found nothing. Any help would be great!

Check Stoney's Links (see my sig for the URL) -- there may be something in there on it. While you're there, bookmark it. Best resource for A6 info.

You remove the glass gently and unhook wires (make note of which electrical fitting they plug onto). Then you take out the two screws from underneath, and gently remove the stock cap by pulling on it upwards, with some patience. Install is the reverse.

You do have wiggle it a little for it to come loose. I a bit of a tough time when I did my passenger side. Oh yeah, check if there is a small gold screw right by the "big circle" on the motor that clips to the glass. On of mine had it, the other didn't.

This is utter Bullsh*t... Im really upset that I tried to do something as stupid as this, I should have left well enough alone. After an hour and a half of messing with those horribly made caps and breaking multiple spots on the small black piece of plastic that sits under the cover, Ive decided to leave it as it is and return the mirror covers. The fitment was soo poor it was unbelievable. WARNING TO ALL, the in.pro style mirrors are not made to fit well, dont waste your time or money......
