to the best of my understanding, the pixel loss is caused by ineffective adhesion of the ribbon cable to the controller bus. AudiDIY.com has an interesting fix involving some small scale soldering to resecure the cable, but I have found simpler DIYs out there. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I understand that part of the problem is a rubber piece or a glue or something that expands when it gets hot and severs the connection. In the winter do you get full pixel displays?

.. I think somewhere on here is a simple fix involving a shim or something like that. I read it once but I haven't been able to find it again. My LCD has this same problem

Ribbon cable is made of thin plastic and it expands and contracts with temperature swing. Eventually, it will loosen the soldering to the board and will start loosing pixels. If your display still displays all its pixels when it is cold, then you can slow down the progress by opening up the cluster and applying nail polish on the ribbon cable where it meets the board. But if your cluster has already lost pixels and they are permanent, you have to re-solder the cable on. The following is a good diy.

You can also send your cluster to module master and etc..
