Code 17544 - System too Lean - A6 2.7t
Hi Everyone!
Hate to be a pain and bring this subject up again, but I can't seem to find info about the 2.7t, all 1.8t. I have done searches, so I apologize if this exact thread has been covered. Anyway, I bought my car about 2 months ago, it just had all turbo hoses, vacuum hoses, sensors, plugs, & more replaced. Its a 2002 a6 2.7t, 6sp Manual.
Vag-Com Pulled this code:
VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-S
Control Module Part Number: 4B0 907 551 AK
Component and/or Version: 2.7l V6/5VT G01 0001
Software Coding: 06712
Work Shop Code: WSC 23436
Additional Info: WAULD64B02N090155 AUZ7Z0A1982875
2 Faults Found:
17544 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
P1136 - 35-00 - -
17546 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
P1138 - 35-00 - Please Register/Activate
Any thoughts, I was inspecting the motor tonight, given it was hot, but all hoses initially looked good, but I am no professional, but want to learn more about the motor, so would like any help with this or if someone can point me in where the Vacuum hoses may be??
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You should have under the hood a Vacuum hose diagram.
Although a different model and year, mine has its diagram on the passenger side, closer to the edge near the windshield.
(so, as you open the hood it should be at the "bottom" of the opened hood)
You should also check the MAF sensor, and eventually give it a good clean.
Does the car have a modified air intake?

Hi Chefro!
Thanks for the info, I will check that out tomorrow! It does not have a modified intake, I've been thinking about it, but never done it! i will work on the MAF Sensor as well!
Again thank you for the help!

you're welcome!
You know it's easy to give advice
Anyway, maybe they missed replacing a vacuum hose. Even if the car doesn't have an aftermarket CAI (chances for the filter to get clogged easier), you can still though check on the air filter as well.

I actually spent a good portion of time going through it yesterday, then found that my Vacuum Check Valve that sits right below the PCV Valve, or the Oil Catch on the intake tubes had cracked. And was hissing air like a mother, and unfortunately the only way to replace it is get it online or through a dealership, and the dealerships were already closed, so I took some loctite epoxy and bridged the gap, and let it sit overnight, and no more hissing, so I cleared the code and we'll see if it helps the situation!! I also cleaned the MAF Sensor to be safe!
Lets cross those fingers.
Thanks again for all of the help!
