Default Dashboard not working, how do I fix this?

I was wondering if there is a cheap way to fix this. The LCD screen in the center console no longer works. When I turn the car on, it still says "OK" in yellow letters, but the part beneath that (the red part) no longer works. The top part and the bottom part both work, so I can see which gear my car is in as well. Its just the middle lcd part (that displays mpg and temperature) does not work. Any way to fix this without going into the dealer?
Thanks
Stan

I doubt there is a easy fix for the LCD display without getting it completely replaced, they seem to go bad on most audi's, you might want to view this thread https://www.audiforums.com/m_389750/tm.htm

Because of the way the cluster is set up there is no other way to fix this but to replace the cluster, and if you do replace the instrument cluster you will need to have it programmed. You can check out this website www.aaellc.com they transfer the info from the old cluster to the new one or you can have the dealer do all the work but that may be costly.

Is the display completely blank? If so, are you sure you haven't turned it off? I've seen several postings where that was the case.

Reaper/mpw2.7T: You Rock!

Same thing happened to me, thought I shorted something. Was ready to start replacing fuses but the reset took care of it.

First rule...see if it's powered on or plugged in
