Default de-badging

I want to de-badge my A6. Are there any holes ( like tab holes to keep the badges straight) behind the "A6" and "2.8" badges, or is it smooth?

Smooth, only held on with adhesive. Use a hairdryer to warm up the adhesive, peel off (you can use fishing line to cut it) then use goof off to remove the rest of the adhesive.

One warning: be careful with the heat from the dryer. A fellow A6er trashed his paint when he heated it up to much. Just enough heat to warm the adhesive enough to make it easier to remove is all we're talking about there. Then, let it cool before going at it with goo gone.

If you are afraid of using the hairdryer, grab some really hot water and carefully pour over the badges (slowly) to loosen the adhesive and then go with the dental floss. With the Goof off be careful. Apply it to the rag and dab at the adhesive rather than trying to rub or wipe it off. Let it sit for a minute then it gums right off. Stay away from plasticetc with the stuff. Its reallyeasy, you should have no issues.

Yeah, that guy used a heat gun, and heated up the PAINT as well as the adhesive. Good warning here, but if using a hairdryer, not too much to worry about.

Just finished it. I used one of those 1000W work lights from the home depot, It's on a tri-pod so I was able to leave it on the badge and give it a nice even warming instead of a fast intense heat. maybe a little over kill but it was better than getting the wife mad by stealing her blow dryer.
