Unhappy defrauded by Audi of Des Moines service center

This morning, I went to Audi Des Moines service center. My 2005 Audi A6 has some squeaking noise when it turned left, and the rear left turning light does't work sometimes. After almost 5 hours later, the technician told me there are a lot of things need to be replaced. Here is the price:
Front upper control arm bushings with upper link bushings--$858.23
Front sway bar links--$376.99
Rear brake pads/rot ors/caliper bracket--$739.95
Left tail light assembly--$358.99
Both left and right Diff seals--$614.98
Total--$2949.14
Do you guys think all of these are reasonable? My car has 85000 miles. Thank you very much.

no. its the stealership. its not and never will be reasonable. go to an independent mechanic who knows his suspension and audi.

The control arms bushing are about 20 dollars for an arm, you have 2 upper control arms on each side thats just 80 dollars worth of parts and the rest is labor.

basically you should be able to shave off 30-50 percent off the dealer estimate if you go to a independent mechanic.

As ridiculous as the dealer charges are, lets not say you were defrauded, please. You haven't payed them any cash, all they did was give you an estimate... Slight over-reaction I would say.

The suggestions here are good ones. Never pay the dealer to do anything unless you have money to burn, or can't find an indy mechanic that knows Audi's. Doing the work yourself is always a great way to save $$ and get to know the workings of your car. But suspension work is not always the best job for a beginner to tackle.

The brake job, however, is so easy its laughable. You can save $500 off that $739.95 by a self install.
