Do you conceder your A6 Fast/quick? Stock or Modded
I've always heard and noticed the exact opposite, most manufactures seem to aim kinda high on their posted 0-60 and 1/4 mile times and people have trouble replicating factory posted times in real wolrd situations.
thats not saying these cars can't i guess, but i have rarely heard of vehicles being rated conservatively. only two i have ever heard of running better than factory posted times are the old boss mustangs from back in the muscle car era, and the early 2000s camaro Z28/ss', along with various factory freaks which can happen with any vehicle(less common now with newer technology and more refined engines)
I once heard about mazda having to recall vehicles over the RX8 because the power and perfomance capabilities

I know of a gal with an S6 that got frustrated with a guy that kept mouthing off about how much better his modified Mustang was. He insisted that he could beat the Audi in any race that began with a standing start.
She finally challenged him to a 1/4 mile drag race for pink slips.
Her only provision was that the first 1/8 mile would be wet.
The guy refused

Mine's pretty quick for a car with 150k miles on it. It's a 2.7T 6 speed manual with APR chip. When catalytic converters needed to replace, local performance shop put in single cat and seemed to give a little more to it - can hear the turbos spool more. I don't race (track nor streets), but strong off the line and quick when I needed it.
For my 2004 S-Line, I say 0-60 in 6.0s is generous. Not because of a lack of power, but because when you "floor" the Tip tranny from a standstill it takes about 1.5 seconds thinking "Ooooh ya. Du hast stomped ya? Ya, ok. Gimme a second. No, no ya! I'm ready! Just wait, one cog here, und one cog zere, ya....wait....ok ya! Letz go!" It takes a minute to think about itself before it launches. But, once on the move, usable power is wicked. So does the reported 0-60 time of 6.0 flat for the ‘04 S-Line exclude the off the line laziness (seriously, 1.5 seconds) of the TIP? If it does, I can easily confirm that 6 seconds to 60 is easy in the 2004 A6 S-Line. If it does not, I doubt the number. Really, as I have said, 0-60 nicht so gut. Passing speed rivals the 335i....until you have hit the rpm redline for the 2nd time. Then the A6 S-Line loses. But then again, not a drag car.
0-60 in 6s for the 2004 S-Line is what I was mentioning. It only came with tip and has 265hp vs stock 250hp and 280lb-ft of torque vs stock 265. A non S-Line 2.7T A6 with tip does 0-60 in about 6.7 I heard.
I dont know, I race my 2004 S-Line, I have a intake, forge blow off's and magaflow mufflers, my boy has a 94 Supra Turbo with work done, he beats me by like a car lenght, but he always tells me that my car is fast and that im always on he ***....I do too, I be on him, I've beat up a SRT4 once and a 94 GT Mustage.
