Unhappy DOH! Busted Tail Light 2005 A6

I'm in tears. Backed into a column, and cracked the glass on my passenger side tail light. Dealer says they can't just replace the glass, so they want $406 for the entire assembly.

Anyone know where I might find a more affordable replacement? My Google-fu is either very weak, or there really are no alternatives out there, which would be a major bummer.

Thanks in advance.
John

Well, for starters I'd look somewhere else. There are a couple of sources for Audi parts on the web.

Try http://www.audiporschevwparts.com/

I also just found it through Riverside Audi parts (www.riversideaudi.com) for $176 or $183, depending on whether it's the left or right side. You can verify the correct part number by taking the old taillamp out and getting the part number off it.

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

BTW, I *almost* got into a C5 S-Line. Really liked it, but too many miles on it. Oh well.

Thanks again!

*EDIT*
http://www.audiporschevwparts.com/ has them for $136/131 - amazing! Bookmarking that site for sure!

You could WTB (want to buy) in the "for sale" forum. Someone may be parting out a wreck or have spares after replacing them with clear unit.
