The drivers front door blade (the lower most piece of trim) on my A6 3.0 is getting wavy and coming way from the door. I took the piece off and it appears that the plastic cover is no longer bonding with the mounting base. Has anyone tried to repair this before? If not does anyone know of a source for a replacement?

I am noticing the same thing on both front doors, but there appears to be some rust in the area. Also interested in repair, but not sure I want to go for a full paint job. Exterior is otherwise dent (ok - two small door dings) and rust free at 213k.

Steve – this is a “don’t do what I did” post. My door blade had become “unglued” from the mount. Without thinking I used the Gorilla glue I had in the shop, clamp everything tightly together and a few hours later had a strongly bonded door blade. The problem is the Gorilla glue expands in the curing process and it has created a gap that is quite noticeable. Use a non-expanding adhesive.

ECS Tuning has the door blades for our vehicles. I replaced one of mine a couple of months ago.
