Engine Swap

Has anyone ever swapped out a 2.8 or 3.0 engine for the 2.7t ? If so any pictures or links?

this is usually asked about a4s doing the same thing... best bet would be to sell your car and get one with the 2.7T.... yes it is possible, but wouldnt be worth the money, effort

I figured the answer would be to buy a 2.7t, how different are the two engines?

The 2.7T is a twin turbocharged engine. quite a bit more zippy then the 2.8. But I haven't heard much about the 3.0's

1.8T = 180HP
2.8 = 190 HP
3.0 = 200-210 HP
2.7T = 250 HP
4.2 = 300 HP

Give or take a few HP...

does anyone know how hard it will be to replace a 2002 1.8t with a 2.7t engine and estimated price and if it will even fit in the engine bay

if ur talkin abotu the a6 yea itll fit but u might aswell buy a 2.7t bc itll never be worth what u are going to have to pay ... u can get a 01 2.7 for liek 13grand

Haha, If I were going to go through the time/effort (alot of time and effort!) I would find a nice cheap 4.2 and put in a 2.7t (stage 3 since its out)

Wide body looks with 400 or 450 hp!!!!
