would an rs6 engine fit into an a6?

i have many miles on my a6
i don't want a new car but a new engine would be nice

are you talking the v8 or the turbo version? that would be the first question... I would say the v8 engine would be VERY VERY hard to find

the 4.2 v8 would be hard to find and they made the 4.2 A6 and the RS6 wider to fit the engine.

yes.. but you could do the old rs4 and the new rs4 engines which might fit

ive seen an s8 motor in an a6 so im guessing itd be a squeeze but you could fit it

This would be one onf the most costly ventures you could possibly undertake. A cosworth tuned RS6 motor is extremely expensive, if your car is not already a 4.2 widebody, an enormous expensive would be incurred to make it into one. After all that is said and done, the tranny would most likely need to be swapped, the exhaust for sure. Steering geometrics most likely. dont do this. buy an RS6 for about 10G less than this conversion costs

Apart from what has already been mentioned, from memory, the RS6 engine won't even fit in an S6 or wide body A6.

The reason is that the turbos and associated bits themselves have resulted in a longer engine. Even the battery is in the boot/truck.
