Can someone please explain the point to this feature? The owner's manual does a terrible job, but somehow not as bad as my salesman! I bought my A6 for the AWD and it drives like a champ, but I wonder if it is secretly more versatile!

Thanks for the answer! I guess the question then becomes why did Audi add the expense of controls to enable and disable it. I can't think of too many instances where I'd be switching it off. I suppose if I am hopelessly stuck and want all 4 wheels spinning like mad?

 

Yeah if you're stuck, or if you want to drive a little "spirited" and maybe toss the car around without a nanny controlling whether you skid or not.
