Default ESP light

I have a 04 2.7 and when it snows and gets slippery out and the tires break loose, the ESP light willflash on each time it slips,it also makes a noisesimular to the ABS brake noise.

Is this a normal function for the Quattros?

I just had the timing belt service done last week at 74000 and the car had no stored codes.

The light flashes when the ESP is activating, you probably have bald tires, or you need to upgrade to winter tires that grip better.

I guess that the Pirelliall season40 are not the best snow traction tires, flashing lights and noises do however concern me.

If that is normal then I am okay with it... better tires would help...Thanks

Yeah its normal, the abs activating sounds like a loud pulsating grinding sound when activated.
