Hey all so I just took my 95 A6 to a mechanic because I was having a rattle underneath the car that I know wasnt a heat shield and it turns out it's more of disaster than I expected. The rattle turns out to be not only the catalytic converter but the guy was saying that the exhaust has an "inner pipe"? that is cracked and is causing a rattle as well. And bottom line he said pertaining to the exhaust the muffler is the only salvagable part and I am looking at $1700 to replace it all. So I am going to do it all myself, but my question to you all is what brand of exhaust would you reccomend, I am not looking for anything that is going to break the bank but something decent? What would you guys reccomend?

 

I would assume your 95's is original to the car, so I would look into getting a junk yard replacement from another c4 A6. Buy some aftermarket cats which can be as cheap as $100.00 each and you will save a ton of money.
