Default External Mirror Question 2000 A-6

On my wife's 2000 A-6 the driver side remote external mirror is fogging up around the edges and needs to be replaced.
How does the mirror glass get removed from the housing?
Is this something I can remove, buy new mirror glass from Audi, and install myself or is it dealer only?
Thank you in advance
Kurt

just yank the glass off....seriously.

You can find replacement mirrors for 40-400.00 depending on if you have and auto dimming feature or not.

I bought mine from here: http://oemplus.com/

Got the euro blindspot driver and passenger mirrors. Can't live without them now. 175.00 total is what they cost for both IIRC.
