Finally got the 06 A6 wheels on!
Took 10mm spacers, 35mm bolts and 225/40R18s to get a decent fit. Personally, these wheels are some of the best looking C5 A6 combos I have seen. That's me though, and I am biased.

Tires are the exact same height as the stock tires so it sits like stock. The lower profile and 18's make them look smaller. She might be getting a 1" suspension treatment soon to sit her down. I paid about $1200 for the set, $400 for wheels, $200 for spacers and $600 for brand new Goodyear tires.
What did you have before that made you want to "upgrade" to a different stock looking wheel?
I think your idea of a 1" drop should help quite a bit, because right now it looks like an Allroad, but the width looks dead on.

16x7" stock 9 spokes for the stock 2.8 2000. DEFINITE UPGRADE! Sometimes subtle changes are as nice as all out mods.

For wheels I like something a little less "stock" looking myself (I really like the RS4 wheels since you don't see them around), but if we all liked the same stuff it sure would be boring, so congrats.

Iwas thinking aboutgetting a set of18" chrome RS rimsto replacemy 17" RS rims, but I desidedthat I was gonna get a set of 19" aftermarkets ( TSW ) for about $1500 with tires. You could have got a set of nice summer timerims for the same price as the stock rim you just got. I'm not knocking your decision, but if you didnt like your rims, you could have used them for the winter.
True that. The summer v. winter argument is valid. It's all good dude, it's a discussion forum.
Personally, I don't want my car to look stock for 5 months a year (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar). It is a daily driver, and I will get to enjoy my 18s and car's appearance 365. I won't have to worry about keeping 2 sets up, mounting/unmounting a few times a year, etc. I strongly dislike my stockers. Too narrow and too plain for such an attractive car. Maybe if I had some better take offs...
Also I would rather buy a damn good set of high performance all seasons then 1 set of so-so set of summer and 1 so-so set of winter tires. My stockers needed new tires too and I didn't feel like paying for 8 tires.
I have always liked 'tweaked' looks of stock setups. Just my style. Something that looks sharp and people can't tell if it's stock or not.
