Default front brake problem

I have a 2000 A6 Avant Quattro 2.8l. When I step on the brakes I get a shimmy-wobble, like a warped rotor would cause. I replaced pads and rotors and have the same symptoms. The car rides nice otherwise, I was just on the highway going 80-85 and it was smooth. The only thing I noticed that seemed odd when replacing pads was that one of the inner pads seemed to wear at an angle, the others seemed to wear evenly. Thanks for the help.....

Probably control arms although the uneven wear on a brake pad could indicate a caliper hanging up. I'd claen up the caliper bolts and make sure it slides easily. If that doesn't solve it, you need to replace your control arms.

Thanks Bob, I do have a clunk in the front but didnt think they would be related, having had bad control arms in the past that didnt effect the braking. Needs to be fixed anyway, will see if thats the answer......Thanks again...
